The protocol
One plan, several therapies
- Regenerative injections
- Focused shockwave
- Rehabilitation and retraining exercises
Sound familiar?
When joint pain gets in the way.
What it can look like
A knee that stiffens after a round of golf. A shoulder that aches on the backswing. Hips that complain on the trail. The joint rejuvenation protocol brings several of our modalities into one plan for pain like this.
Who is it for?
Our focus is active adults who want to keep doing the activities they love. The protocol is part of the care at our pain control clinic in Redmond, OR.
The short answer
What is the joint rejuvenation protocol?
The joint rejuvenation protocol is Advanced Pain Solutions' own non-surgical plan. It is a sequenced combination of modalities, including regenerative injections, focused shockwave and rehabilitation or retraining exercises, at a cadence that supports the body's natural ability to heal.
What a plan can combine
Regenerative injections
Regenerative injections such as PRP, prepared and given in our clinic once your exam supports them.
Focused shockwave
Acoustic pulses applied to the tissue from outside the body.
Rehabilitation and retraining exercises
Coached exercises that rebuild strength and movement around the joint.
How it works
We find the driver
An exam of how your joints move and what sets off your pain.
We sequence what fits
The modalities your exam supports, set in order.
Under one roof
Every part of the protocol happens in our clinic, with one shared plan.
Who it may suit
- Knee, shoulder or hip pain that limits your activities
- Arthritis-related stiffness in the knees or hips
- Active adults just starting to notice symptoms
Who should not have it
- An injury that needs urgent or surgical care first
- Pain the exam traces somewhere else
- A first, mild flare that rest and activity changes may settle
The same team tracks your progress and changes the plan when it needs to.
Conditions we treat
Where the protocol is used.
Joint pain and arthritis are the two conditions the protocol is planned around.
- Joints
Joint pain
Achy, unpredictable joints, especially the knees, shoulders and hips you rely on to stay active.
- Arthritis
Arthritis pain
Stiffness and pain from arthritis in the knees and hips, often most noticeable after the joint has been resting.
Advantages
Why combine your care this way.
One clinic, one team
Chiropractic care, decompression, rehab and injections happen in one clinic, and the team shares your plan.
Non-surgical
Every part of the plan, from injections to exercises, is non-surgical.
Built around what you love to do
Golf, biking, pickleball, riding: the plan is shaped around the activities you want to keep.
Compare your options
Where a combined plan fits among your options.
The right option depends on what your exam shows.
| Option | What it involves | Often considered when | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rest and activity changes | Easing off what flares the joint for a while | A new or mild flare | Your exam shows whether more care is needed |
| One treatment at a time | A single therapy, then a wait to see | One clear driver of the pain | Your exam shows whether one therapy is enough |
| The joint rejuvenation protocolWhat we offer | Several of our modalities, in sequence, in one plan | Joint pain or arthritis that limits your activities | It takes steady follow-through |
| Joint replacement surgery | An operation to replace a worn joint | Advanced damage, when other treatments have not worked | We perform no surgery. |

Is regenerative care part of every plan?
Regenerative injections are one of the core modalities named in the protocol. Your exam decides whether they fit your plan. The regenerative treatment room has an ultrasound machine with a live image. Every joint injection in your plan is guided by that image for precise placement.
What does focused shockwave involve?
There are no incisions, needles or anesthesia. A handheld applicator delivers the pulses from outside the body, and the intensity is adjusted during your session.
Who coaches the rehabilitation and retraining exercises?
Our medical staff or medical assistants supervise them, depending on the joint, muscle or therapy. It begins with a functional evaluation that sets a baseline, and you get exercises to do at home between visits.
Can chiropractic care be part of the plan?
Yes, when your exam supports it. Chiropractic care here includes chiropractic adjustments and Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP). The chiropractic side of the clinic fits it into the same plan as the rest of your care.
How long does the protocol take?
Plans often range from 2 to 12 visits. The number depends on the condition of the joint, your activity level, age and other factors, including how many joints are treated. Your provider sets the order and spacing of each modality with you at the start.
Can the protocol treat more than one joint?
Yes. A plan can cover one joint or several, such as both knees, or a knee and a shoulder.
Can a brace be part of the plan?
It can. We fit knee braces, including unloader-style braces for knee arthritis and custom knee bracing, and back braces.
Who is on the team behind the protocol?
Our founder, one of our two Doctors of Chiropractic, works with professional and amateur athletes. Our family nurse practitioner gives the injections in-house.
